What builds up in a Toronto home
A regular clean keeps the surfaces in order. A deep clean goes after what settles in between, and in Toronto that follows a pattern: salt in winter, mineral spots from the tap all year, and dust that older houses hold in their trim.
- Salt season. From late fall into spring, road salt rides in on boots and dries as a white film on entry tile and hardwood.
- Mineral spots. Toronto’s tap water leaves chalky spots on faucets and a dull film on shower glass: a deep clean descales the sinks and faucets and de-soaps the glass.
- Compact condo kitchens. In an open-plan suite, cooking grease reaches the range hood, its filters and the cabinet fronts beside the stove.
- Older houses. Deep window sills, door frames and vent covers in semis and Victorian row houses hold dust that a regular visit only passes over.
- Finished basements. A basement rec room or suite can be part of the same visit: add the finished basement extra ($88.50) when you book.

The clean
Included, and what you can add
Everything in a regular clean comes first: kitchen, bathrooms, dusting and floors. The deep-cleaning add-on then takes on the build-up:
- The stovetop degreased, the range hood and its filters cleaned
- Tile and grout lines scrubbed; tubs and shower glass de-soaped, sinks and faucets descaled
- Vents, register covers, light fixtures and reachable ceiling fans
- Under the furniture we can safely move and put back
- Beds stripped and remade with the linens you leave out
Added on the booking form, each one itemized in your price: inside the oven, fridge or cabinets, hand-wiped baseboards, interior windows and blinds, interior walls and a finished basement.
When to book
The right moment for a deep clean
- Spring, after salt season. The classic reset once the boots and mats are put away.
- Before the holidays. Hosting family in a semi or a one-bedroom? Choose your time on the booking form once your plans are set.
- Before listing photos. Selling? Book the deep clean before the photographer comes. For a home that’s already empty, choose move-in/out cleaning in Toronto instead.
- A first visit. Start from a clean baseline, then keep it with regular house cleaning and save up to 15% with a recurring plan.

How much does a deep clean cost in Toronto?
From $259 before 13% HST for a studio or one-bedroom: the regular clean (from $194) plus the deep-cleaning add-on (from $65). A two-bedroom starts from $322. The booking form shows your exact price, based on your home and the extras you choose, before you book.
Will a deep clean lift road-salt marks?
Yes, from hard floors: the white film road salt leaves on entry tile and hardwood is wiped and mopped away. If your baseboards show it too, add hand-wiped baseboards (from $33.50) on the booking form.
Can my finished basement be part of the deep clean?
Yes. Add the finished basement extra ($88.50) on the booking form, and the basement is part of your clean and your price.
Can you deep clean my condo while I’m at work?
Yes. Leave a key or fob with the concierge, add your building’s visitor instructions to the booking and tell us how to lock up. For your security, we never keep copies of keys.
How often does a Toronto home need a deep clean?
Once or twice a year suits most homes: in spring, after salt season, and in the fall, before the holidays. A weekly or bi-weekly plan keeps it fresh in between, and you save up to 15% with a recurring plan.
What if something is missed on my deep clean?
Let us know within 24 hours and we’ll return within 5 days to re-clean what was missed, at no cost. That’s the Hive Promise, and it covers the tasks and extras you booked.
